Diploma of Emergency Health Care

A paramedicine-level qualification built and delivered by a company that has been running event medical operations since 1990 — and that puts you on the medical team while you study, not after you finish.

Your placement starts on day one

Clinical placement is not something bolted on at the end of this course. It runs alongside your study from the moment you enrol, and it is arranged for you through EMS Event Medical.

That means working on the medical team at festivals of 50,000-plus patrons, at major sporting events including A‑League football, and across ten years of continuous work at one of Sydney’s best-known concert venues — alongside doctors, nurses and senior paramedics certified in Mass Gathering Event Medicine, a program written by our Director of Event Medical Operations, held exclusively by EMS and taught nowhere else.

Your skills workbooks set out exactly what you need to demonstrate, and your assessor signs it off as you go.

What it costs

$500
to start
then
$1,500
per section × 8
=
$12,500
total course fee

You never pay for a section until you are ready to start it. Each section is bought one at a time, in order, and each $1,500 instalment can be split into four payments. Your $500 deposit is deducted from the total.

What your fee covers

Your course fee includes student onboarding, your EMSET uniform shirt, all workshops, and the practical placements you need to complete the qualification — arranged through EMS Event Medical. Textbooks and skills workbooks are provided digitally.

About the $500 deposit

The deposit is payable before you start and is deducted from your total course fee of $12,500. It covers the work that begins the moment you enrol — your enrolment and USI administration, student onboarding, your EMSET uniform shirt, arranging your clinical placement, and immediate access to your textbooks, skills workbooks and section introductions. Because that work is carried out and those materials are released as soon as you pay, the deposit is not refundable. Sections you have paid for but not yet started are refundable in full — see our Refund Policy. This does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

How the course is structured

Eight sections, worked through in order. Sections 1–5 and 8 are the same for everyone. Sections 6 and 7 depend on the pathway you choose — pick one below to see them.
